There is something so awe-inspiring about the natural beauty that comes out of the ground, incredible colours and shapes that no-one has seen before.

My jewellery reflects that love of the unusual and unique, especially raw gemstones presented in natural form and interesting combinations. I source opals from the miners themselves and cut and polish them myself. To do the whole process from start to finish, to see the colour emerge from within a stone and present it in a form to be worn is a very satisfying process.

I have been designing jewellery for fifteen years and my pendants are wire wrapped with Sterling Silver and 14k gold filled wire and recently with antiqued copper. I have found the best thing to do is to let the gemstone itself dictate the direction the wire would take. This has produced lovely and unusual results, and each and every wire wrapped pendant is one of a kind and an item to be treasured. Perfect as gifts both for others and yourself.

I hope you enjoy my collection!

Australian Opals

I source my opals from local Australian miners and cut and polish them myself. It's often a messy thing to do requiring a lot of patience and persistence, often with muddy and waterlogged fingers, as there are many stages of grinding and polishing for each one. Yet a glorious delight to find that colour within a stone, something that has never been seen before. I tend to like the unusual ones, the unique and different that bring such natural beauty. All opals are solid unless otherwise stated.

The essence of Australia, a wonderful gift.

Getting ready to cut and polish, muddy fun!

Wire Wrapping

I use Sterling Silver and 14k gold filled wire to create a frame for each gemstone and the aim is to have a stone speak for itself. No glues, no fixatives, just the tension of the wire holding it together. The description of gemstones that most appeals to me is that they are “part of the earth’s DNA”. Even if you feel they don’t have any special or metaphysical properties, I am sure you will agree with me that they have an enduring quality and beauty that simply can’t be matched.
